Gerard Reid has over two decades’ experience in equity research and fund management in the energy area. He is also a leading energy expert and lecturer, author and monthly columnist for BIZZ energy today, the German energy industry publication. Prior to founding Alexa Capital, he was Managing Director and Head of European Cleantech Research at the US investment bank Jefferies & Co. Before joining Jefferies, Gerard managed a renewable energy fund. He has broad relationships across the institutional and private investor communities as well as amongst government policy makers, utilities and technology providers to the energy area. Gerard has been teaching in the university in Berlin for the last decade. Gerard holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree as well as a Higher Diploma in Education from Trinity College Dublin.

Sacha is a renewable originator at Eneco Energy Trade, the trading department of the Dutch utility Eneco. After finishing her master’s degree in ‘science business and innovation’ in 2016, she started her career at the trading floor of Eneco and joined the departments of business operations, portfolio optimization and structuring and origination. Currently, she is project lead for solar PPA’s in the Netherlands.

Viviana is a Business Development expert at European Energy Exchange (EEX). Viviana has over ten years’ experience in commercial roles at financial commodity exchanges. She is currently responsible for the integration of renewables in the European Power Derivatives segment at EEX. In particular, Viviana focuses on how PPAs and increasing merchant risk are affecting the hedging needs of EEX members and the wider players in renewable energy industry.

Viviana started her career in 2008 at BlueNext, the former environmental commodities trading platform of NYSE Euronext and Caisse des Dépôts, prior to joining EEX in 2011. Viviana holds a B.A.H. from Queen’s University in Canada, and an Executive Master in Energy Management from ESCP Europe.

Larissa Gunst is a Business Originator and Meteorologist at Priogen, an energy trading & optimization company from Amsterdam. Larissa joined the team in 2016 as an Operational Meteorologist on the trading floor, providing European weather forecasts for trading decisions. In 2017 she combined her meteorological knowledge and experience from the trading floor with portfolio optimizing strategies at Priogen’s business development department. Here, Larissa set up the inhouse solar model and collaborates with a team of programmers and meteorologists to develop new services to de-risk renewable capacity owners. Currently she is responsible for (inter)national PPAs and weather forecasting services for wind and solar portfolios, and is project lead for PPAs in Italy.

Larissa holds a master’s degree in Meteorology and Hydrology from the Wageningen University. In her spare time, Larissa is an enthusiastic Zumba fitness instructor.

Jewgeni has more than 10 years of experience in the energy and finance industry. He started his career consulting banks and financial institutions at PwC and joined the energy industry in 2009 as Senior Manager for Energy Trading & Risk Management at Vattenfall and Gazprom. Between 2015 and 2018 Jewgeni was CFO of Dornier Consulting International, an Airbus group technology consulting company focusing worldwide on Infrastructure, Mobility and Environment. Since 2018 he joined saferay as Group CFO being responsible for Accounting, Controlling, Cash Management, Finance and HR. In his role at saferay Jewgeni is furthermore involved in the development of new renewable energy business models.

Jewgeni holds a degree in business administration from the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht in Berlin, Germany and a MBA in Energy Management from the International School of Management in Dortmund, Germany.

Berto Martins is currently Director for Electricity Markets at EDP S.A. He is 52 years old, born and raised in Lisbon but with an academic degree completed at the Oporto University in 1990.
In this same year, joined EDP to work at the National Dispatch for the Electric System and after some years moved to the System Optimization and Commercial Operations Division until 2002.
When the liberalization process of the energy sector started in Portugal he moved to the team that created the Energy Management Division at EDP, implementing IT and business procedures for all Trading activities.

EDP´s Electricity Markets Division is responsible for the management of the whole generation portfolio in the Iberian Market. Besides real-time optimization, these tasks includes also Short/Medium Term Planning, Outages coordination, Bidding strategies on both Energy and Ancillary Services markets and real-time coordination with the Portuguese TSO.
