Sam Wilkinson is a Research Manager for the Solar and Energy Storage Research group at IHS Technology. During his time working within the group, Sam has been responsible for researching the PV inverter market and the PV module and poly-silicon supply chain working closely with leading global suppliers to develop detailed analysis on these markets. Sam has also been responsible for establishing primary research reports focusing on solar demand and policy, complementing IHS extensive research of the complete PV supply chain. Building on his experience in the solar research team, Sam established and now leads IHS Technology’s coverage of energy storage, covering a wide range of topics within this fast developing sector. Sam’s analysis and commentary is regularly published by leading PV and energy industry media and also the global press. He has also presented at many leading industry events and conferences. Before beginning his career at IHS, Sam worked as a Structural Engineer for one of Europe’s leading engineering firms. He graduated from The University of Nottingham with a degree in Engineering.

Mr. Stefan Müller is the Co-founder, shareholder of Enerparc AG and since end of 2008 as a board member responsible for the international and operational business. After his diploma theses in 1992 in Solar Energy he gained international experiences in different roles for international companies in various countries and was based in India and Singapore. Enerparc is an international specialist in the whole value chain of large-scale photovoltaic power plants, has 150 experienced employees with offices in Germany, India, US and a number of registered partners (Ukraine, Jordan, Egypt, Belarus and others).

Mario joined Encavis (then Capital Stage) in 2013 and now heads the Operations and the IT divisions. Prior to that, he has been heading the Investment Team and responsible for the company’s business development. Together with his Team he has also been analysing the trends of the energy sector and exploring new business models. The combination of his technical and financial expertise has been crucial to Encavis’ growth over the past years.
Before joining Encavis, Mario worked as Country Manager for the German wind energy developer GEO mbH.
Mario holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Control Engineering, both from University of Pisa. In 2015 he also earned an MBA from Mannheim Business School.

Having over 10 years of Renewables experience, Tom heads the Asset Management team at Octopus as Director. Since entering the renewables market in 2010, Octopus Renewables has grown to become the largest investor/owner of solar power in Europe, as well as growing to become a leading investor in onshore wind. We currently manage a global portfolio of renewable energy assets valued at more than £3 billion.

Prior to Octopus, Tom worked as a Manager at Deloitte in their financial services team, primarily specialising in the investment management and private equity industries.
Tom has an undergraduate master’s degree in physics from Warwick University and is a qualified chartered accountant.

Matteo Riccieri is the Head of Innovation & Technology in EF Solare Italia. He graduated in Enviromental Engineering at the Università degli Studi di Perugia in 2004 and began his career in 2005 with the oil company Bp, in the subsidiary Bp Alternative Energy.
In Bp he initially covered the power origination and trading from renewables such as hydro, wind and biomass. Then from 2008, he was Head of Projects Development in Bp Solar being in charge of developing and building utility-scale PV plants backed by international investors.
From 2011 until 2018 was then in RTR Capital, a former company of private equity fund Terrafirma recently sold to infrastructure fund F2i, where he was Chief Operating Officer of the group and managing director of the operating companies.

Mr. Hanawalt has worked in the independent power industry since its birth in the early 1980's. Over the past thirty years, has developed a deep set of operational & management skills including start-up engineering, performance engineering, operations management, and asset optimization.
Steve started his career as an engineer with International Power Technology. Recognizing personal computing technology allowed engineers for the first time to automatically acquire and process realtime plant data, he founded Power Factors Incorporated in 1986 to provide plant performance analytic services to the power industry. Steve successfully ran Power Factors as CEO for 12 years before being recruited by Calpine in 1999 to develop its Plant Optimization business unit. Steve developed and led the group for 7 years where his team was responsible for optimizing the thermal and economic performance of Calpine’s 25,000 MW portfolio of combined cycle power plants.
In 2007, Steve left Calpine to join SunPower Corporation as Global Vice President of O&M where he had responsibility for commissioning and managing the largest fleet of solar photovoltaic power plants in the world at the time. Recognizing the solar industry needed an independent monitoring and asset management software platform, Steve left SunPower in January of 2012 to form Power Factors LLC with two additional partners.
Steve is an Executive Vice President at Power Factors where he works with customers to ensure their successful use of the Power Factors’ SaaS solution which is now monitoring over 20 GW of solar and wind power projects around the world.
Steve received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982 with a specialization in energy conversion.

Hariram Subramanian is CTO of the Huawei Fusion Solar Smart PV Solution - Europe. He received his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Germany in 2005, and MBA degree in International business and strategy from Germany and UK in 2012. Before being named to his current role at Huawei, he has held R&D, Product Management and senior solution sales position at PV inverter manufacturing companies.

He has worked extensively in the technology field as a senior R&D engineer, especially in the field of control technology for power electronics and Grid Management using Inverters, and then  moved into techno-commercial and product management roles in the solar inverter industry. Before working in the business of PV inverters, Subramanian worked in the UPS and power supply industry and has in total 13 years of experience in energy conversion business.

Kam Mofid is General Manager and Head of Envision’s Global Solar Center of Excellence which is based in Redwood City, California. In this position, Kam is responsible for leading research and development in advanced analytics for improving performance and reducing risk in solar asset management including leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning in certain complex data-intensive applications. Kam is also responsible to support global solar solution deployments and leads consulting projects to help solar owners and operators globally address difficult challenges and requirements.

Envision is one of the world’s leading solar and wind asset management software solutions providers with over 100 GW of software deployments globally. Kam has been a senior executive in solar since 2010, with positions including President of REC Solar and CEO of RGS Energy. Prior to 2010, Kam held a variety of executive positions in large automotive and aerospace firms. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and a M.Sc. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology’s school of Industrial and Systems Engineering.

Will is founder and CEO of Above and a pioneer in the use of aerial inspection and data analytics within the utility scale solar sector. An engineering graduate and a keen private pilot of 30 years, Will has extensive commercial experience, having held several senior posts in banking and legal IT in London over 20 years. During 2014 and 2015, driven by his passion for renewables be took the role of Programme Director at Push Energy, where he was responsible for the construction of 150MW of ground-mounted solar throughout the UK. Will is also a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), and in 2011 Will and Simon Gilhooly (Above’s Technical Manager) formed the UK’s first community-owned solar co-operative, Green Energy Nayland, for which he is still a Director.

Joe Miletic joined Foresight Group in July 2019, a leading independent infrastructure and private equity investment manager with £2.8 billion of assets under management and is responsible for the solar projects of the JLEN Environmental Assets Group.

He previously focussed on the asset management of the JLEN fund while working at John Laing Capital Management. Joe also worked at Armstrong Energy as head of engineering where he was responsible for the operational performance and technical/commercial asset management of UK and India solar PV assets. He previously worked at Sonnedix where he was responsible for the reporting and performance analytics for an international portfolio of solar plants.

Joe holds a master’s degree in energy and electrical engineering from ENSIP and an advanced master’s degree in renewable energy from Mines Paristech.

Werner Coppye is a co-founder and the Chief Technological Officer of 3E, responsible for the definition and the implementation of the technology roadmap of the company’s business units. Since 1999, Werner has been actively involved in the company’s business development in energy systems for the built environment, solar and wind energy technical advisory work and product development of the SynaptiQ software platform for renewable energy asset management. Before creating 3E as an IMEC spin-off in 1999, Werner was the R&D manager at Philips Hearing Implants, responsible for the development of the terminal equipment for the fitting of cochlear implants. He previously was a project manager at IMEC in Leuven, first active in the optimisation of high yield crystalline silicon solar cells and later in the study of photovoltaic solar energy systems. Werner is co-author of several publications in international publications and is also regularly invited as guest lecturer on sustainable energy concepts. He graduated as an electro-technical engineer in micro-electronics from the “KU Leuven” (Catholic University of Leuven Belgium) in 1992.

From Dec. 2015 to Dec. 2017, he was Executive Advisor to the 1st Chairman of the Global Solar Council, the world's PV association, which was founded during COP21 in Paris. Schmela has been working in the solar industry for over 20 years. After co-founding Photon-Magazine in 1996, he served in various positions in the Photon group, primarily as Editor-in-Chief of Photon International. In 2014, Schmela started MISCHCO, a company offering strategy consulting and communication services to solar companies. In April 2016, TaiyangNews, a digital news platform for the solar industry that Schmela founded, went online. TaiyangNews focuses on publishing in-depth reports and market surveys on PV technology.

    Manuel is an internationally recognized expert in climate finance. He combines deep insight into climate-related (investment) risks and opportunities with a good overview of global and European politics. Manuel is a frequent and versatile speaker and moderator at large conferences and smaller roundtable sessions. He has contributed to numerous international and Dutch publications.

    Manuel has an economics and investment management background. He is a German citizen living in the Netherlands for 20 years. He has a fluent command of Dutch, German and English languages and a professional working proficiency in French.

    Manuel works at a London-based not-for-profit organization, recognized as a global climate finance thought leader. Before, he oversaw Dutch €55 billion asset manager ACTIAM’s responsible investment activities. He also served as an (alternate) member of the prestigious Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative’s (EITI) International Board, working against corruption in the oil, gas & mining sectors. Earlier in his career, Manuel worked with bank-assurance company Fortis, where he initiated a global climate strategy.

    David Delaire is Managing Director at MPC Renewable Energies. He manages with a focus on supporting M&A activities and leading asset-related activities upon acquisition/financial close. Previously, he was Director of Asset Management at Natural Power, COO at Greensolver, CTO at Eolfi (a former Veolia company) and Operations Manager at General Electric. His track record includes the technical and commercial asset management of more than 450 MW of photovoltaic (PV) solar and 820 MW of onshore wind assets. He has developed and established asset management platforms, resulting in robust growth across various markets. He has also served as a Director or Managing Director for several renewable energy assets in various parts of the world, including Europe, the Caribbean and Asia.

    Dr. Roland Hengerer is Director, SI Research covering the energy sector at RobecoSAM AG, an asset manager with exclusive focus on sustainability investing. He is also responsible for the methodology behind the globally recognized Dow Jones Sustainability Index for these industries. Roland studied atomic and semiconductor physics in Würzburg, Germany and New York and wrote his PhD thesis at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology on a novel technology platform for solar cells / Li-ion batteries. Before joining RobecoSAM Roland worked in the solar industry for the German solar pioneer Solon AG and the Chinese PV manufacturer Trina Solar. He also received an MBA from IMD in Lausanne and worked as a consultant for Accenture in France.

    Marco has eighteen years of international experience in the management of assets, and operation and maintenance throughout various industries, including seven years in the solar industry.
    He has been paving his career path towards full asset management services since beginning his career with ABB, integrating its full-service team for industrial assets.
    Following this, Marco worked at Transdev-Veolia, focused on business and asset management for Light Rail networks in Europe.
    In 2010 he became founder and global Head of Martifer Solar´s O&M and Service Business, driving the strategic direction while leading a team of more than 100 employees, where he became Executive Committee Member as the representative of O&M and, accumulated with the responsibility of leading the EPC global business in 2015, until leaving the company in 2017. Martifer Solar operated in more than 20 countries as a global reputed Developer, EPC turnkey provider and one of the most relevant O&M Global Service providers for Solar assets.
    In 2018 he co-founded and integrated as General Manger the company MTX Solar - a provider of innovative solutions and services for the players of the solar industry, with own competences for the whole chain of value of Solar, present in two continents.
    Marco received his MSC in Electrical Engineering and completed an Executive MBA in Management from University of Porto Business School/IE Madrid. He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish, with a working proficiency in the French language.

    Dr. Robin Hirschl studied physics in Vienna, Austria, and Lyon, France, and holds a PhD in Computational Materials Science from Vienna University. He started his career at Booz Allen Hamilton (today Strategy&), joining the European Utilities Team, where he lead energy projects throughout Europe as Senior Project Manager.
    Since 2007 he has held management positions at Kioto Photovoltaics and KPV Solar, before co-founding ENcome Energy Performance in 2012. As managing director of ENcome Robin built the company up to what is today one of the largest independent technical service providers for PV worldwide. In early 2019 he ceased his operational involvement with ENcome and later started to support the Danish investment company Obton as Technical Director.
